  • Registered Massage Therapy is a provincially regulated profession. Registered Massage Therapists are licensed to practice the “treatment and prevention of physical dysfunction, injury, pain and disorders of soft tissue and joints of the body by manipulation, mobilization and other manual methods.” by the College of Massage Therapy of British Columbia. The CMTBC is a central governing body which works with the Provincial Government, under the Health Professions Act, to provide regulations that ensure public safety.

    Before arriving at the studio, please complete the Initial Health History Intake Form which will be sent by email.

    Please arrive no earlier than 5-8 minutes prior to your appointment. If the door is locked and it is within 5 minutes of your appointment, please knock.

    Washrooms located on the 8th and 7th floor, may be accessed with keys available inside the studio.

    You and your therapist will discuss your Health History Intake Form and together, form a treatment plan that focuses on your goals and needs.

    The assessment will often include testing of movement, mobility and muscle activation.

  • Depending upon the treatment focus, your appointment will likely include manual treatment while draped under sheets. Only areas of the body being treated, will be undraped. Undressing is to your personal comfort level and will be discussed prior to treament.

    There may be appointments which include active participation and movement. Bringing a pair of comfortable shorts/yoga pants and a sports top or bra might be recommended for follow up visits.

  • Informed consent is when a patient agrees to a massage therapy treatment, fully informed of the risks and benefits of assessment and treatment, the areas of the body which will be touched and the draping and undraping of the body during treatment. They are also informed of their right to withdraw/alter or discuss consent at any time. Your therapist will discuss informed consent with you at the beginning of your appointment.

    It is important to experience a safe and welcoming space which nurtures communication between patient and therapist.

  • Yes. Late cancelations within 24 hours of appointment time and missed appointments are subject to 100% of the treatment fee.
