Rachelle Camsusa RMT
Practising as an RMT for over 10 years in Vancouver, Rachelle’s interest in human anatomy was sparked at an early age when she was introduced to life-drawing in art school. Traveling globally exposed Rachelle to the tradition of massage as accessible community health care in cultures throughout the world. Inspired by her fascination with anatomy and her experience abroad, she left the travel industry to study massage therapy. After graduating with honours from Vancouver College of Massage Therapy's (formerly known as Utopia Academy) 3000 hour Massage and Hydrotherapy program in 2012, Rachelle registered with the College of Massage Therapists of British Columbia. Rachelle's post graduate studies resulted in a keen interest of the assessment and treatment of temporomandibular joint (TMJ) dysfunctions. Whether it be restricted mobility, sore muscles, tension headaches, insomnia, chronic injuries or illness, Rachelle will work together with you to facilitate positive change. Multiple techniques such as myofascial release, deep tissue massage, trigger point therapy and proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation are integrated into each session. Stretching, strengthening and complementary homecare exercises may also be employed to help reach both short and long term health goals. Rachelle strongly believes decreasing the body’s reaction to stress and anxiety through massage is a powerful tool which promotes health and wellbeing.
